The Crescent Nebula, designated as NGC 6888, is a stunning emission nebula in the Cygnus constellation. This celestial beauty is formed by the powerful stellar winds of a massive Wolf-Rayet star, WR 136, interacting with the surrounding interstellar medium. The Wolf-Rayet star, nearing the end of its life cycle, expels its outer layers in a fierce stellar wind, creating a vast bubble of ionized gas. This ionized gas emits light at specific wavelengths, giving rise to the brilliant hues observed in the nebula. NGC 6888 is approximately 5,000 light-years from Earth and spans about 25 light-years in diameter.
